Belize se účastní šestého výročního Central America Travel Market v Salvadoru.
Projekt Angel Says Read
Slečna Jackie Spinner, proslulá novinářka ze Spojených států, oslovila
Belize Tourism Board s projektem, který považujeme za velmi kreativní a který se nazývá Angel Says Read
As a world traveler and avid reader, Jackie shared her experiences travelling
with stacks of books, whether on vacation or business travels. She relayed how
difficult she found it to tote those books back home with her because most of
her destinations were not English speaking countries. Her preference would have
been to leave the extra pounds behind but she also didn’t want her precious
novels to go to waste where no one could read them. After being in Belize for a
while and falling in love with our "precious jewel", Jackie figured a way to
contribute to the Belizean society, through something she really loved and
enjoyed... Reading.
The Angel Says Read Project is designed to encourage visitors to our country to
leave their books behind and those in turn will be donated to the library
services country wide. She has partnered with several prominent Belizeans and
some college students in Toledo to launch and carry out the project in the month
of October 2009. Jackie has asked the BTB to assist with getting the word out
and encouraging you all to assist in whatever ways possible. She has been
working with her partners to identify specific drop-off points for the books and
therefore they might be turning to you for assistance very soon.
Please note the BTB wants to fully endorse this project. If you are approached
by Jackie or her Committee Members, we also encourage a helping hand wherever
possible.
If there are any questions, concerns or suggestions regarding the project, do
not hesitate to call Keesha Flowers at the BTB or log on to their website at
angelsaysread.com.
With Warm BTB Regards,
